About a few months ago, I often visited the hospital for certain purposes. Since I enrolled in the health system here (called NHS – National Health Service), then the maintenance fee is free. I do not need to spend a dime. From what I know, the health costs here are getting a considerable allocation from the government. However, there are some hospitals or private doctors who charge you for a visit. Why can there be a private doctor when there are free facilities from the state? From what I experienced during my life in London England, health services here are not quite satisfactory when compared to doctors in Asia. Meanwhile, you might want to take the English test for citizenship if you decide to live and work there.
Everyone here will be registered to GP or GP (General Practice) in their respective areas. If I lived in the Ealing area, then I had to enroll in a doctor for the Ealing region. I can not carelessly visit a doctor / GP in the Wimbledon area for example. If I get a fever today and then make an appointment to see a doctor, I’m unlikely to meet on the same day. Sometimes I can see her doctor tomorrow or even next week. Well, what if need an emergency? We can go to some hospitals that are setting up emergency facilities or Walk-In Center, which sometimes is not near our home (the fee is free). That’s why private doctors are present to provide fast service.
